Otaru, Japan (July 01, 2006) -- The conventionally-powered aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) sails into Otaru, for the first time in four years, for a port visit. Kitty Hawk Sailors were able to sightsee, shop, enjoy recreational activities and participate in community relation projects with the host nation.  Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility, Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently, forward-deployed aircraft carrier.
