SAN DIEGO (Aug 7, 2008) -- Sailors "man the rails" aboard the aircraft
carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) as she transits San Diego Harbor after
being forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan for the past 10 years. At 46
years old, Kitty Hawk is the Navy's oldest active-duty warship and will
be replaced this summer by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS
George Washington (CVN 73) as the Navy's only permanently
