Persian Gulf (June 20, 2005) -- Sailors assigned to the Nimitz-class
aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) return to the ship during a
recent port visit to Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. The Carl Vinson
Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed in support of multi-national
forces in Iraq and maritime security operations in order to set the
conditions for security and stability in the region. Vinson will end
its deployment with a homeport shift to Norfolk, Va., and commence a
