Newport News, Va. (March 6, 2006) -- The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) sits in dry dock 11 at Northrop Grumman Newport News shipyard painted red with primer due to ongoing preservation. Vinson is currently undergoing its scheduled refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News. The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier will have her nuclear fuel replenished and will be upgraded with the latest technology enabling the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier to serve for another 25 years.
