Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, WA (Apr. 19, 2002) -- Shipyard worker Terry Smith directs the crane operator to position one of four 64,000 pound screws from USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) onto support blocks, pier side. Carl Vinson and her crew are conducting a Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) designed to install new technology and extend the operational capability of the ship.  When completed, Carl Vinson will return to her homeport at Naval Station Bremerton, WA.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 3rd Class Kerryl Cacho.  (RELEASED)
