NORFOLK, Va. (April 7, 2008) -- The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) steams through the Chesapeake Bay as it leaves Naval Station Norfolk en route to Yokosuka, Japan where it will replace the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) as the United States' only forward deployed aircraft carrier.
