SAN DIEGO (May 27, 2008) -- The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) arrives in San Diego after a May 22nd fire. George Washington is en route to relieve the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) as the United States' permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier in the western Pacific.
