Gulf of Mexico (Sept. 6, 2005) -- Boatswain's Mates work together to clamp a pelican hook over one of the port-side anchor chain's links in order to secure the chain aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). Truman is assisting in the relief efforts for the areas along the Gulf Coast that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina. The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
