San Diego, Calif. (Feb. 11, 2004) -- The Austin-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Duluth (LPD 6), underway off the coast of San Diego, Calif. The versatile Austin-class LPDs provide substantial amphibious lift for Marine troops and their vehicles and cargo. Additionally, they serve as the secondary aviation platform for amphibious ready groups.  The Duluth is home ported at Naval Station San Diego, Calif.
