Suez Canal (Nov. 8, 2006) -- USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41), USS Philippine Sea (CG 58), and USS Nashville (LPD 13) follow the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), through the Suez Canal. The Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) successfully transited the Suez Canal, concluding operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
