04. Edged Mallet is a two-week exercise designed to strengthen
military-to-military relationships, increase interoperability, and
familiarize U.S. personnel with the environmental and operational
characteristics of Kenya while demonstrating amphibious
capabilities. Additionally, Edged Mallet features Humanitarian
Assistance Operations and bilateral combined arms training with Kenyan
Armed Forces. Edged Mallet involved more than 1,800 U.S. Sailors
and Marines and is part of an ongoing series of U.S. - Kenya military
activities that refine, promote and maintain the operational readiness
of participating forces while supporting and maintaining understandings
