Central Command Area of Responsibility (Feb. 24, 2003) - A Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) closes-in to its return station, the amphibious transport dock USS Cleveland (LPD 7). An LCAC is a high-speed, ship-to-shore and over-the-beach landing craft that can transport equipment, personnel and weapons systems from amphibious ships located beyond the horizon.
