Bellows Air Force Station, Hawaii (July 22, 2006) - A Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) assigned to Assault Craft Unit Five (ACU-5) embarked on the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) departs from Bellows Beach on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. The amphibious assault exercise was one of the many exercises during the Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2006 exercises. Eight nations are participating in RIMPAC, the world's largest biennial maritime exercise. Conducted in the waters off Hawaii, RIMPAC brings together military forces from Australia, Canada, Chile, Peru, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.
