Kauai, Hawaii (July 12, 2006) - Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC),
assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6),
land Marines on the beach of Pacific Missile Range Facility on the
Hawaiian island of Kauai during a simulated non-combatant evacuation
operation (NEO). Bonhomme Richard is participating in Rim of the
Pacific (RIMPAC) 2006 exercises. Eight nations are participating in
RIMPAC, the world's largest biennial maritime exercise. Conducted in
the waters off Hawaii, RIMPAC brings together military forces from
Australia, Canada, Chile, Peru, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the
