Arabian Gulf (Dec. 7, 2003) -- Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) seventy
two assigned to USS Peleliu (LHA-5), pulls back into the well deck
after operations were suspended due to rough seas. The LCAC is used to
transport combat personnel and equipment from sea to shore. The
Peleliu and her embarked 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Special
Operations Capable (SOC) are part of an Expeditionary Strike Group
currently deployed in the region supporting Operation Iraqi
