Sattahip, Thailand (July 8, 2004) – A U.S. Navy Landing Craft,
Air Cushioned (LCAC) ferrying 18 Royal Thai Marines, comes ashore
during an amphibious raid event as part of the the Thailand phase of
exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training. LCAC 73 is manned
by Sailors from Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, detachment Western Pacific
and is embarked in USS Fort McHenry (LSD 43). CARAT is a regularly
scheduled series of bilateral military training exercises with several
Southeast Asia nations designed to enhance the interoperability of the
