Pacific Missile Range Barking Sands, Hawaii (July 13, 2004) - A Landing
Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC) from Assault Craft Unit One (ACU-1) is
guided into place by a member of the Beach Masters Unit Three (BMU-3).
ACU-1 and BMU-3 are participating in exercise Rim of the Pacific
(RIMPAC) 2004. RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise in
the waters around the Hawaiian Islands. This years exercise includes
seven participating nations; Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, South
Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States. RIMPAC is intended to
enhance the tactical proficiency of participating units in a wide array
of combined operations at sea, while enhancing stability in the Pacific
