Gulf of Mexico (Sept. 3, 2005) -- U.S. Navy personnel assigned to the
amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), load a Landing Craft, Air
Cushion (LCAC) with equipment as they prepare to provide relief to
victims of Hurricane Katrina along the Gulf Coast of the United States.
The Navy's involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance
