Biloxi, Miss. (Sept. 6, 2005) - A U.S. Navy Beach Master, assigned to Beach Masters Unit Two (BMU-2), directs the offload of a front-end loader from a Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), that will be used for cleaning up the remnants of Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi Miss., and surrounding areas. The heavy equipment is being brought ashore by U.S. Navy LCACs assigned to Assault Craft Unit Four (ACU-4), currently embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5). The NavyÕs involvement in the Hurricane Katrina humanitarian assistance operations is led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.
