Pensacola (Sept. 7, 2005) -- Landing Craft, Air Cushion No. 9 from Assault Craft Unit Four at Little Creek, Va., pulls onto Barrancas Beach aboard Naval Air Station Pensacola to pick up emergency supplies of water and food to assist in the humanitarian effort following the devastating aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The LCAC-9 is currently operating from the USS Bataan (LHD-5), which is in the Gulf of Mexico to support the hurricane relief effort. The Navy's involvement in the humanitarian assistance operations is being led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in conjunction with the Department of Defense.  Photo by Gary Nichols.
