Naval Air Station, North Island, Calif. (Jan. 15, 2003) -- Seaman Leanne Connelly from Denver, Colo., applies gold paint to one of two 30-ton Navy standard stockless anchors aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74).  Stennis was recently honored with the "2002 Golden Anchor Award" for retention excellence.  The San Diego-based aircraft carrier is currently undergoing a Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) period having new technology installed and integrated to extend the operational capabilities of the warship.  U.S. Navy photo by Photographer's Mate 2nd Class Jayme T.
