Pacific Ocean (Aug. 25, 2004) -- The Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) steams in formation with the military sealift command fast combat support ship USNS Rainier (T-AOE 7), guided missile destroyer USS Howard (DDG 83), off the starboard side, and two Japanese Self-defense Force warships, JDS Sawagiri (DD 157) and JDS Mayoko (DD 175) off the port side, near the coast of Japan.
